Now, in the Paint palette, set the Source to "Current Layer." Set the Offset to 0,0. And set the Source Time Shift value to -1.
With these settings, you'll be cloning "in place" from the image in the frame immediately preceding the frame you're working on.
You'll also want to use a brush tip that corresponds roughly to the size of your damage. In my case, a soft, five-pixel brush will work just fine. Any larger, and I'll be cloning too much outside of the damaged area, which will be noticeable in playback.
Now you're ready to go.
